Jean-Claude Ellena has left his mark on the landscape of French Haute Parfumerie for more than fifty years. Its meteoric rise is based on a style of rare elegance, an olfactory signature with a subtle blend of purity and accuracy. After his long years spent in olfactory creation at Hermès, Jean-Claude Ellena chooses his collaborations sparingly. He speaks of the Couvent as a crush, a story of encounters, exchanges, and points of attachment: noble materials, singularity and naturalness.
When Jean Claude Ellena talks about perfume, he talks about places that inspire him. Memories, memories recomposed thanks to smells. Composing a perfume is writing a story.
